Abstract
The role of anapole moments ((a) over right arrow) arising from the P- violating and T-invariant theory of electron-nucleon interactions in t he atom is examined. The standard model of the electroweak theory is u sed to compute numbers for \(a) over right arrow\ for alkali-metal ato ms and muonic hydrogen. The physical implications of the results obtai ned are discussed.
