Abstract
In this paper we consider the equations of motion for a fluid of secon d grade together with non-homogeneous boundary conditions. We study th e problem in a simply connected domain in R(3) and show the existence of a unique classical solution-local in time-under suitable regularity conditions on the boundary values. The method consists of an appropri ate decomposition of the original problem along with application of mu ltivalued fixed point theory.
