Abstract
The effect of absorption on the diffusion constant of classical waves propagating in media with randomly positioned Mie scatterers is studie d. Profound changes including a significant increase in the diffusion constant are found and attributed to the growth of the transport mean free path in the vicinity of Mie resonances.
