Abstract
All the terms in the Reynolds stress balances are experimentally evalu ated in a wake with drug and in the wake of a self-propelled, propelle r-driven body. The fundamental difference between these two kinds of f low is particularly evident in the analysis of the axial Reynolds stre ss, the axial-radial shear and the radial-tangential shear balances.
