Chromosomes and detailed karyotype information (the number, shape, C-b
ands. and NORs) of two species of the North Korean cave crickets belon
ging to the subfamily Aemodogryllinae whose cytology is little known,
are described for the first time. The karyotypes of Diestrammena unico
lor unicolor with 2n male = 29 (XO) comprises metacentric autosomes, w
hich come from 2n male = 57 through Robertsonian fusion, and the metac
entric X chromosome, while Paratachycines (Hemitachycines) boldyrevi w
ith 2n male = 47 (XO) possesses one pair of metacentric, twenty two pa
irs of acrocentric autosomes, and the metacentric X chromosome. The ka
ryotypes of these two species are not typical of Rhaphidophoridae.
