A spectrophotometric study of palladium complexation in concentrated n
itrate and acid solutions is presented. The water activity of the solu
tions was fixed to control activity coefficients. The existence of the
species PdNO3+, Pd(NO3)(2) and PdOHNO3 has been evidenced and their s
tability was evaluated. An activity diagram for the predominance of so
luble palladium species is presented and the precipitation limit is dr
awn.
