R. Hlila et Cs. Degaldeano, GEOLOGICAL STRUCTURE OF THE HAOUZ MOUNTAI NS (INTERNAL RIF, MOROCCO) - INTERPRETATION AND CHRONOLOGICAL ASPECTS, Comptes rendus de l'Academie des sciences. Serie 2, Mecanique, physique, chimie, sciences de l'univers, sciences de la terre, 318(9), 1994, pp. 1261-1266
The thrust and backthrust of the Haouz Mountains result from the westw
ard migration of the Internal Betic-Rif Zones, being practically stopp
ed at the end of the Burdigalian by the Flysch nappes situated in a mo
re external position. We interpret the backthrusts as being encapuchon
nement (antiformal stack) phenomena.
