M. Bertolotti et al., A CRYOSTATIC SETUP FOR THE LOW-TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT OF THERMAL-DIFFUSIVITY WITH THE PHOTOTHERMAL METHOD, Review of scientific instruments, 66(12), 1995, pp. 5598-5602
A cryostatic setup is described to perform photothermal deflection mea
surements from room temperature to 77 K. The setup uses gaseous nitrog
en as a medium where the photodeflection is produced. The ability of t
he system to work is demonstrated presenting some measurements of ther
mal diffusivity of high-temperature superconductor samples and of yttr
ium-iron garnets with variable aluminum content. (C) 1995 American Ins
