Abstract
Biological and medical aspects of the biochemistry of oxythiamine are reviewed with special consideration of evidence inconsistent with the traditional antivitamin concept. The mechanisms of metabolic effects o f this derivative of vitamin B-1 not related to its putative anticoenz yme action are discussed.
