Abstract
The relationship between hydrolysis of egg phospholipids by phospholip ase D and their induced peroxidation was studied in lamellar and micel lar systems. Induction of phospholipid peroxidation by the Fe2+-ascorb ate system considerably decreases the hydrolysis rate of phospholipids by phospholipase D. Hydrolysis of phospholipids by phospholipase D de creases the rate of their Fe2+-ascorbate-induced peroxidation.
