Ak. Chattopadhyay et al., TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENT DUAL LUMINESCENCE OF LOROMETHYLENO)-(9'H)-10,10'-DIHYDRO-9,9'-BIANTHRYL (CDDB) AND ITS EXCITED-STATE DIPOLE-MOMENT, Journal of luminescence, 65(5), 1995, pp. 269-277
The temperature dependent dual fluorescence of 9-chloro-10, loromethyl
eno)-(9'H)-10,10'-dihydro-9,9'-bianthryl (CDDB) is reported. Both radi
ative and non-radiative rate constants are temperature dependent. The
dependence of the radiative rate constant on temperature is explained.
The dipole moment of the TICT state of CDDB has been measured by the
thermochromic shift of emission spectra in some homologous solvents ra
nging from methanol to butanol. The excited state dipole moment calcul
ated from the thermochromic shift agrees well with that derived by oth
er methods.
