The crystal structure of N-p-tolyl -2-chloro-4-p-tolytamino-6-pyrimidi
ne-carboxyamide was determined by X-ray diffraction methods. The cryst
als are orthorhombic, space group Pbca with a = 11.484(5), b = 15.315(
5), c = 26.68(1) Angstrom, V = 4692(4) Angstrom(3). In the crystal lat
tice tile molecule appears to be nearly flat, slightly bow-like shaped
. The amide and amine groups form intramolecular N-H...O and N-H...N h
ydrogen bonds. Each molecule is linked to two other molecules by inter
molecular hydrogen bonds forming chains along a axis.
