Abstract
The fission track (FT) method has been evaluated as a tool to determin e the contribution of thermal, epithermal and fast neutrons in an irra diation facility. We used the U-doped Coming CN5 glass that is commonl y applied in FT-dating, in combination with the thorium doped CN3 glas s. The results obtained with this technique were consistent with those of the activation method. The precision of the method cannot compete with the activation method but is sufficient for evaluating the suitab ility of an irradiation facility for FT-dating purposes.
