Abstract
A remarkable effect of platinum on the operating potential of carbon p aste (CP)based glucose sensor by taking advantage of nickelocene (Nic) as an electron mediator is reported. The sensor output upon glucose a ddition was the largest when the operating potential was -100 mV (vs A g/AgCl) in the absence of platinum, whereas the maximum sensor output was obtained at -200 mV when 10% (w/w) platinum powder was co-blended in the mediator-containing carbon paste.
