Abstract
In this paper we obtain results about local existence, uniqueness, reg ularity, and continuous dependence on the initial data for the solutio n of the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation with positive dispersion in R (2)? and initial data in Sobolev spaces of order s greater than or equ al to 3. Our method uses an approximated problem where the theory of q uasi-linear evolution equations is applicable. (C) 1995 Academic Press , Inc.
