Abstract
To profit optimally from the active distribution properties of MDI the resin coverage of MDI wetted wood surfaces and chips was quantitative ly investigated. For this purpose digital image processing methods sug gested themselves. The theoretical relationships of the technique empl oyed are described. Upon image homogenisation the image can be broken down by empirical rules into characteristic areas such as MDI, wood an d background. The described method can be used for microscopically as well as macroscopically produced images.
