Abstract
A sample of 79 male and 80 female students in Wales completed the Fran cis Scale of Attitude toward Christianity together with the Bem Sex Ro le Inventory. The data indicate that the well attested finding that wo men are more religious than men can be adequately explained in terms o f differences in the personality dimensions of gender orientation.
