Abstract
The synthesis and characterization of hexacoordinated ruthenium comple xes of etioporphyrin I (EP) of general formula [(EP)RuL(2)] (L = teria ry phosphine) and of the pentacoordinated complex [(EP)Ru(PPh(3))] are reported. The multiplicity observed in the H-1 NMR spectra of complex es is discussed on the basis of the steric interactions between the ax ial ligands and the macrocycle.
