Abstract
A new route to the synthesis of -ethoxyphenyl)-2-methyl-5-(3-phenoxyph enyl)pentane (desfluoro MTI-800) and enyl)-2-methyl-5-(4-fluoro-3-phen oxyphenyl)pentane (MTI-800) and the insecticidal activities of these c ompounds and some of the synthetic intermediates against the tobacco c aterpillar Spodoptera litura (F.) is reported.
