M. Faura et al., DIFFERENTIAL DISTRIBUTION OF HETEROGENEOUS NUCLEAR RIBONUCLEOPROTEINSIN RAT-TISSUES, Biochemical and biophysical research communications, 217(2), 1995, pp. 554-560
Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins bind to RNA as long as it is
transcribed. Since their binding can be sequence-specific, it has been
suggested that their expression in different tissues could vary depen
ding on the specific mRNA processing requirements. In order to better
establish this possibility we studied the presence of the heterogeneou
s nuclear ribonucleoproteins Al, A2/B1, C and D in the cell nuclei of
different rat tissues by one- and two-dimensional immunoblotting. We f
ound that these proteins were heterogeneously distributed among tissue
s and that they were found in different proportions. (C) 1995 Academic
