Abstract
Rectal atresia is a rare condition in which the anus and shincter musc les are normally developed. Therefore it seems logical to preserve tho se structures unaltered during surgical therapy. Mucosal proctectomy a nd colo anal anastomosis is a safe, technically well known technique t hat achieves this goal. (C) 1995 by W.B. Saunders Company
