Abstract
A convenient method for the preparation of nucleoside 3'-H-phosphonoth ioate monoesters from suitably protected nucleoside 3'-H-phosphonates has been developed. It consists of activation of nucleoside H-phosphon ates with pivaloyl chloride in the presence of a limited amount of a b ase followed by treatment with 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexamethyldisilathiane (HMD ST).
