M. Rhabbour et al., ISOLATED CONGENITAL TRACHEOESOPHAGEAL FIS TULAS - A REPORT OF 4 CASESDIAGNOSED NEONATALLY, Annales de pediatrie, 42(9), 1995, pp. 572-575
Four cases of congenital tracheoesophageal atresia responsible for neo
natal symptoms are reported, The diagnosis was difficult in some cases
because of the misleading nature of the symptoms, Upper gastrointesti
nal tract opacification established the diagnosis in all four patients
, although this investigation had to be repeated in two cases, The fis
tula was located high in the neck in all four cases and was therefore
treated by ligation and division of the fistula via a right cervicotom
y followed by interposition of muscle between the trachea and esophagu
s.
