Abstract
Ozonolysis of compounds 1a-1d in CDCl3 at -78 degrees C regioselective ly and stereoselectively gave the corresponding final ozonides 2a-2d a s the sole product, which, after treatment with triethylamine, gave th e novel convex tetraquinane era-cages 9a-9d in high yields respectivel y.
