We report on a 16-year old boy with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma who acquire
d a therapy-induced ascites and pleural effusion during initial chemot
herapy. This life-threatening condition could be controlled by intensi
ve care measures including pleural tap and drainage. Chemotherapy coul
d then be continued. The patient has been in continuous complete remis
sion for 18 months.
