Abstract
This study was designed to examine adult grandchildrens' views of rela tions with their grandparents by comparing the perceptions of subjects from divorced and intact families. Self-report questionnaires were ad ministered to 327 college students, asking them to evaluate the role b ehaviors and role meanings of their grandparents and other grandparent figures and the importance of each relationship to the subject, Few s ignificant differences were found between subjects from divorced and i ntact families, indicating parental divorce was not a strong determina nt of the subjects' perceptions of relations with their grandparents. Several findings indicate that the subjects from divorced families per ceived greater support from grandparent figures than subjects from int act families.
