M. Guillaume et B. Sebille, STUDY OF A POLYMER IMMOBILIZED ON SILICA-GEL AS STATIONARY-PHASE FOR CHIRAL LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHY, European Polymer Journal, 32(1), 1996, pp. 19-26
The adsorption of beta-cyclodextrin polymer was studied on different s
ilica beads, in water-organic solvent mixtures. A maximum adsorption o
n Lichrospher 100 Angstrom 5 mu m was observed for a polymer solution
containing 70% acetone. Different crosslinking agents were used to sta
bilize the polymer layer on the silica surface to make a convenient su
pport for liquid chromatography. Glutaraldehyde appeared as very effic
ient for this purpose and enabled chiral supports to be prepared.
