Abstract
This paper reviews and integrates research relevant to the effects of sex stereotypes in work settings. The consequences of sex stereotypes for working women are explored as are current ideas about what they ar e, how they operate, and the conditions that regulate their impact. Id eas for additional research in this area are suggested.
