Abstract
This study examines data collected from both Nigerian and American sam ples regarding attitudes toward women as managers. The results indicat e that American and Nigerian female management aspirants are likely to experience barriers to advancement in that country. Nigerian males, e specially, have a negative view of women as managers. If placed into p ositions of authority by expanding multinational organizations, their decisions may greatly impede the opportunities offered women (both nat ive and expatriate) and the egalitarian goals of American corporations .
