Investigation of the aerial parts of Delphinium albiflorum resulted in
the isolation and identification of deacetylheterophylloidine [1] alo
ng with hetidine [2] and lycoctonine [3]. Structure 1 for this previou
sly unreported naturally occurring alkaloid was established on the bas
is of detailed nmr spectral studies and chemical correlation with deac
etylheterophylloidine, obtained by the hydrolysis of heterophylloidine
[4]. H-1- and C-13-nmr chemical shift assignments for 1 and 2 are rep
orted herein.
