ON ORBITS OF FRACTIONAL LINEAR TRANSFORMATIONS

Let k be a field and let sigma(t) be an automorphism of k(t) of infini te order. In his paper [1] Gerard Cauchon asked whether the transforma tion which is naturally defined on k boolean OR infinity by sigma has infinitely many infinite orbits. This is indeed so.
