A solid lubricating film composed of a water-soluble cellulose derivat
ion, acid phosphate, antiwear agent, corrosion inhibitor and moisture-
resistant material, was studied for cold pressure working of ferrous m
etal. The film adhered on the metal surface was examined by means of e
lectronic probe microanalysis (EPMA), Auger electron spectroscopy (AES
), X-ray photoelectronic spectrum (XPS) before and after processing. A
bout 6000 blocks (the shape shown in Table 1) were taken for actual ap
plication experiments. Satisfactory results have been obtained.
