ACUTE THERMAL-INJURY OF THE ESOPHAGUS

Acute thermal injury to the esophagus has not been reported previously in the radiographic literature, We present a case of a young adult wh o developed an intramural ''blister'' that ultimately communicated wit h the esophageal lumen. A double-contrast esophagogram outlined the re sulting mucosal flap. A brief review of other injuries to the esophagu s is included.
