A 69-year-old-woman developed a lymphangiosarcoma of the limb on chron
ic lymphedema after radical mastectomy and radiotherapy for primary br
east cancer 12 years before. Since 1948, when Stewart and Treves descr
ibed this entity, 200 cases have been described. We report this case b
ecause of its extremely rare frequency. Concepts of etiology, treatmen
t and prognosis are reviewed.
