THE KINETICS OF CALCIUM-PHOSPHATE PRECIPITATION IN CLARIFICATION .2. SUCROSE SOLUTIONS WITH MG2- IMPURITIES AND INDUSTRIAL CANE JUICES( ANDSO42)

This is part II of a study of the kinetics of calcium phosphate precip itation under conditions of cane juice clarification. The effect of Mg 2+ and SO42- ions was studied in the water-sucrose-phosphoric acid- mi lk of lime system. The nature of this effect was explained by a mechan ism proposed in part I-1 and in the light of published results. The ef fect of calcium phosphate precipitation on solution coloration was als o investigated. Finally the kinetic curves of precipitation from an in dustrial sugar cane juice were interpreted according to the results ob tained using synthetic juices, with and without impurities.
