Abstract
This article discusses the need for multiculturalism to be an integral part of the library science curriculum and relates the results of a s urvey of library schools on the issue of multiculturalism and curricul um modification/revision. The authors conclude that the issue has rece ived increased attention and positive action, but that a certain tensi on exists; They also found that the least activity in modification/rev ision concerning multiculturalism has taken place, curiously, in acade mic librarianship courses. The authors support extended efforts of lib rary schools to prepare librarians for work in an increasingly diverse society and library environment.
