THE PROBABILITY OF PREGNANCY AFTER EMBRYO-TRANSFER IS AFFECTED BY THEAGE OF THE PATIENT, CAUSE OF INFERTILITY, NUMBER OF EMBRYOS TRANSFERRED AND THE AVERAGE MORPHOLOGY SCORE, AS REVEALED BY MULTIPLE LOGISTIC-REGRESSION ANALYSIS
Tj. Roseboom et al., THE PROBABILITY OF PREGNANCY AFTER EMBRYO-TRANSFER IS AFFECTED BY THEAGE OF THE PATIENT, CAUSE OF INFERTILITY, NUMBER OF EMBRYOS TRANSFERRED AND THE AVERAGE MORPHOLOGY SCORE, AS REVEALED BY MULTIPLE LOGISTIC-REGRESSION ANALYSIS, Human reproduction, 10(11), 1995, pp. 3035-3041
Because the process of conception is affected by many variables, a mul
tiple logistic regression analysis was performed to assess (i) the imp
act and relative weight of both patient and embryo variables and (ii)
their possible effects on the probability of a vital pregnancy after e
mbryo transfer, A statistical model was constructed predicting the pro
bability of pregnancy after embryo transfer, The variables that contri
buted significantly to the predictive value of the model were the age
of the patient, the cause of infertility, the number of embryos transf
erred and the average morphology score of the transferred embryos, Emb
ryo variables appeared to have a significant but modest value in predi
cting the probability of pregnancy after embryo transfer, Other variab
les, such as the thickness of the endometrium, were found to have no p
rognostic value, Moreover, we found that their effect could be explain
ed by the variables already included in the model.
