Abstract
We compare theoretically the intensity of the B-1g phonon Raman scatte ring in YBa2Cu3O7 above and below the superconducting transition tempe rature T-c. Our analysis shows that a considerable enhancement of the scattering intensity in the superconducting state that is observed exp erimentally can be caused by an extension of the number of intermediat e electronic states near the Fermi surface that participate in the Ram an process.
