GROWTH-FACTORS IN BLADDER-CANCER

This article is an overview of peptide growth factors, their receptors , and signal-transduction pathways that play a role in bladder cancer. Included in this overview are epidermal growth factor receptor and it s ligands, erbB2, fibroblast growth factors, insulin-like growth facto r, the transferrin receptor, and transforming growth factor-beta. The use of growth factors or growth factor receptors for diagnostic and th erapeutic interventions is also discussed.
