Abstract
An alkaloid d-tubocurarine in aqueous solution binds 8-anilino-1-napht halenesulfonate and anions of substituted benzoic, aliphatic dicarboxy lic, and N-acetyl-alpha-amino acids. The binding constants vary from c a. 50 to 3300 M(-1) depending on the anion structure, charge and hydro phobicity. The binding of N-acetyl-alpha-amino acids is enantiospecifi c.
