Abstract
Three avocadofurans and an alkene-gamma-lactone have been isolated fro m Persea indica. The data for the lactone are similar to those given f or majorenolide to which a delta-lactone structure was previously assi gned. We suggest that its structure and those of other analogous lacto nes, such as majorynolide and majoranolide, should be revised.
