Lp. Petrova et Lp. Efimenko, THE EFFECT OF IRIDIUM ON THE NITRIC-ACID CORROSION-RESISTANCE OF PD-IR-SI COATINGS ON NICKEL, Protection of metals, 31(6), 1995, pp. 547-549
Pd-lr-Si coatings produced on nickel by powder fusion-sintering were t
ested for chemical resistance in concentrated nitric acid (25 degrees
C, 10 h). Substituting 10 and 20 wt % Ir for Pd in the reference sourc
e mixture 98 wt % Pd-2 wt % Si was found to increase the corrosion res
istance by factors of 10 and 20, respectively. Aging heat treatment at
700 degrees C for 20 h provides an additional 1.5 - 2 times increase
in the corrosion resistance of the coatings.
