APPLICATION OF GAMMA-CYCLODEXTRIN TO THE IMPROVEMENT OF DISSOLUTION CHARACTERISTICS OF OXAZEPAM

The complexation behaviour of Oxazepam (Ox) with gamma-cyclodextrin (g amma-CD) was investigated in solution and in solid phase by means of P hase-solubility techniques, UV spectroscopy, H-1 NMR spectroscopy, Dif ferential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SE M) and powder X-Ray Diffractometry (XRD). The binary systems Ox-gamma- CD were prepared by kneading and spray-drying methods. The dissolution rate studies reveal that the release profile of Ox was improved in th e case of kneaded preparations.
