A melt-spinning technique was used to produce TE-TL alloy ribbons with
TE = Zr and Hf and TL = Fe, Co or Ni for compositions around the TL-r
ich eutectic (about 90 at.% TL-content). A large amount of data on the
room-temperature electrical resistivity and the thermopower as well a
s on the temperature coefficient of resistivity between 77 K and 300 K
is presented for these alloys with the aim to provide a complete char
acterization of the reproducibility of the ribbon preparation and to d
emonstrate the macroscopic homogeneity along the length of long ribbon
s. The influence of atomic structure and chemical composition on the e
lectrical transport properties of these alloy systems is also discusse
d to some extent.
