Cc. Trapalis et al., STUDY OF A MULTILAYER WAVELENGTH-SELECTIVE REFLECTOR PREPARED BY THE SOL-GEL PROCESS, Materials letters, 25(5-6), 1995, pp. 265-269
Multilayer, wavelength-selective reflective coatings have been prepare
d by alternating deposition of TiO2 and SiO2 layers from solutions. Ap
propriate alkoxide solutions in ethanol were used as starting material
s. The thickness of each layer, the profile of the coatings and the di
ffusion effects between multilayers were examined by the Rutherford ba
ck scattering method, using C-12 ion scattering. The spectral reflecta
nce of multilayer coatings was studied, as a function of both the numb
er and thickness of layers, and the range of maximum reflectance deter
mined.
