Abstract
A new tetrabromodiphenyl ether, 2-(2', 4'-dibromophenoxy)-3, 5-dibromo anisole (5) has been isolated from the low polar fraction of the spong e Dysidea herbacea of the Indian Ocean. Its structure has been deduced mainly on the basis of H-1 NMR and nOe studies.
