Abstract
The Manx Electricity Authority decided to construct an optical fibre c ommunication link between its main control centre, power stations and primary substations. Having considered various options, it was decided to replace the existing centre phase conductor on a 33 kV wood pole l ine with OPPC containing 24 optical fibres.
