A new method of electromagnetic flowrate measurement allows the flowra
te of conductive liquids to be measured in partly filled pipelines. Th
e novel design and the mode of operation of such an electromagnetic me
asuring instrument are described and the results of first metrological
investigations presented. It has been the aim of the investigation to
find out whether, at a later date, these instruments can possibly be
approved for commercial transactions for which the use of verified ins
truments is mandatory.
