Abstract
The effects of the spacer grids on the heat transfer within vertical 6 x6 tube bundles enclosed by a cylindrical container were evidenced. Te mperature distributions in several tubes/grids configurations were mea sured. An empirical model was developed and Nu-Ra correlations were ob tained. It is shown that the Nu in a tube bundle with grids can be pre dicted starting from geometrical data of the tube bundle and grids. Th e predicted Nu agreed with the experimental data with mean errors of o nly +/-4%.
