Abstract
An elaborate 13-state R-matrix calculation is performed to determine c ollision strengths and Maxwellian-averaged rate coefficients for fine- structure transitions in N II. Analytic fits are given for the rate co efficients for the temperature range 5000-125 892 K, so that they may be applied to investigations of solar/late-type stars and planetary ne bulae.
